Biography of Rafael

Rafa lives in the city where he was born, Madrid, and has been involved in both individual and team-based internet projects since the age of 18. In 2001 he joined acens Technologies (previously called RapidSite España), where he was responsible for online media until January of 2005. In 2005, he co-founded Retorne Soluciones Interactivas, a business offering professional search engine marketing (SEM) services and vertical and commercial blogs, until November of the same year when the SEM portion of the business was aquired by T2O media. At this time he became Director fo SEO in T2O media, a search engine marketing company.

In 2007, Rafa co-founded Findasense along with Tomy Lorsch. Since August of 2007, he has been Director of Operations and Co-Director of Content for OME Events, responsible for operations and content of the SMX conferences in Spain and Latin America, in association with Third Door Media and Danny Sullivan. He is also responsible for content management in Online Marketing España, a digital marketing congress and fair. Since May 2008 he has been Chief Editor of Search Engine Land en Español.

Rafa teaches courses and offers speaking engagements relating to internet topics. He is a member of the Instituto Juan de Mariana and writes opinion articles for various media publications. His blog is called Fernández Tamames.
