Biography of Tomy

Tomy Lorsch is an entrepreneur and strategy consultant with more than 12 years experience in advising companies, start-ups and agencies in the interactive technology and advertising industry. With 16 years, he co-founded the first unofficial website for the football club River Plate, being pioneer in  live radio online broadcasting.

In May 2007, Tomy co-founded Findasense along with Rafael Fernández Tamames. Two years later, Findasense became investor-partner of StepOne Ventures.

In 2007 Tomy partnered with event organizer Eventos OME to produce Danny Sullivan’s Search Marketing Expo (SMX) conference series in Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico thanks to an agreement with parent US-based company Third Door Media Inc.. He is also director of Contents of the OMExpo, conference and fair for online marketing and digital advertising, the biggest and most relevant event of its kind in Spain and of the eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit in Spain, Portugal, Mexico and Brazil. Mr. Lorsch is also the co-editor of Search Engine Land’s Spanish version and a regular author in the OME News e-magazine.

From 2002-2005, he served as Online Marketing Director at a travel & education company in Germany, being responsible for online activities in 14 languages and 20 countries. Later on he joined as 24/7 Real Media’s SEO Consultant for Europe and Japan. In 2006 Tomy Lorsch was Country Manager of YouTube’s competitor MyVideo, when it was aquired by German TV group ProSieben for 40 million Euros.

His vertical expertise covers travel, education media, finances, health and retail including well known companies such as Vodafone, Expedia, IKEA, Moneybookers, Bayer, Deutsche Welle, Indra, 20minutos, Rumbo, as well as firms within the WPP, Interpublic Group and Publicis families.

Tomy has contributed to and/or been quoted in publications such as El País, La Nación, Americas Quarterly, Interactiva magazine and OJObuscador.

He also serves as a frequent guest lecturer and professor at the Instituto de Empresa Business School in Madrid (considered to be one of Europe’s leading business schools by international journals like Financial Times, The Economist, Wall Street Journal or América Economía; these publications recognise IE Business School as a leader in academic areas like entrepreneurship, or in the field of learning technologies). Mr. Lorsch has a Social Science background from the University of Buenos Aires and the Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universtät, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

He speaks fluently Spanish, English and German.
